ABOUT THE MCKEE LAUREATES
Sarah Yuan, age 18, lives in Moraga and is a recent graduate of Miramonte High School. She began piano studies at age seven and is currently a student of Dr. Sharon Mann. Since 2015, Sarah has won awards at the Pacific Musical Society Competition, Etude Club’s Young Artist Competition, Sturm-Page Scholarship Competition, and Ross McKee Piano Competition. She was also an Honorable Mention winner for the 2022 and 2023 National Young Arts competitions. Over the past several years, she has performed in masterclasses for artists such as Ida Kavafian and Peter Wiley, James Giles, Tamas Ungar, Jeff LaDeur, and the Gryphon Trio. She has attended summer programs such as PianoTexas and Bowdoin, and has performed for the San Francisco International Piano Festival and the Noontime Concert series in San Francisco. As a five-year participant in the Young Chamber Musicians program, Sarah is currently the pianist for the Aveta Trio, which won the gold medal at the 2021 Fischoff National Competition (Junior Division). She will attend Princeton University in the fall.
